What are Single Tooth Implants & Bridges?
Single tooth implants and bridges offer the optimal solution for repairing damaged or missing teeth in a specific area.
- Authentic appearance
- Robust, natural chewing function
- Firmly and permanently attached
- Dramatically diminishes bone loss following extraction of a natural tooth or teeth
- No adverse effects on neighboring teeth, unlike alternative options such as bridges
How it Works
A dental implant is a titanium screw used as a base to replace one or more teeth.
Comprising three components, a dental implant consists of:
- Implant post (or body) | Serving as the foundation, this is inserted into the jaw to act as an anchor.
- Abutment | Connecting the implant post and crown, this piece plays a crucial role in the implant structure.
- Crown | The visible part in the mouth, this could also include an implant bridge spanning across multiple implants.
Dental Implant Timeline
The procedure generally spans over 5 to 6 months from beginning to end.
1
Insert the implant body and allow for 4 months for integration into the jawbone.
2
Expose the implants and allow the gums to shape correctly for a period of two weeks.
3
Take impressions and send them to an external lab for the fabrication of the abutment and crown. This process typically requires 3 to 4 weeks.
4
Install the abutment and crown.
